CHT and crank sensor readings?
So I tried to fire up my 993 motor in a 78SC today.
I have got it cranking, oil pressure, sounds good, fuel in the rails, one king lead delivered a healthy spark, but not firing. I pulled number 4 top plug after quite a lot of cranking and it was bone dry and no smell of gas. I dont have a 993 manual, what ohm reading should I get across the CHT and crank sensors? (I have a DVM but no scope). |
And if anyone has got the 993 part numbers for the CHT and crank ref that would be handy too.
Edit - So I think I found the part numbers, CHT is 993-606-013-00 and 996-606-105-00 for the crank. Still need to know the ohm numbers. |

Excellent, that's very helpful.
Many thanks. |
So I just tested the CHT sensor with a meter, its 20 degrees C here today and I got a reading of 2.45Kohms.
Pretty much in the right place. I've ordered a Crank sensor as the body of mine has sustained a bash and its a trickier thing to check, I havent used a scope for 15 years so i thought buying a new sensor easier! |
