964 convertible top copper washer substitute?

Hi all,

The top on my 964 cab started "laboring" upon open & close. After looking further into the problem, I found that the copper washers (999 025 254 10) seated between the motor and convertible top drive arm were worn (one was actually torn!).

It seems like everyone wants ~$25/prt for the washers. This seems outrageous to me. Does anyone know of a substitute?

Thanks in advance!

-john

Dimensions? There will be lots of other places to buy washers. McMaster Carr maybe?

the washer is:

Thickness = 0.060"
ID = 1.125"
OD = 2.0"

I checked McMaster Carr and i really don't see anything in brass or copper with an ID big enough... Did anyone else have any luck?

Anyone think a thrust bearing would work? This one looks to be about the right dimensions...

Too good if anything. I was going to suggest a bronze washer.

how many washers does it take?

I mean....$25 is pretty cheap in the big picture, you probably wasted that much on a bottle of wine you didnt even like.....
