Bosch Motronic Tuning for Turbo Carrera - questions and referral in SE PA
Hey all,
I'm nearing the end of the turbo conversion on my '87 Carrera. I've made more changes than I originally planned, and I'd really like to be sure that I'm getting the most out of my setup. I ordered a chip from Protomotive based on my setup (3.3 L cylinders with 8.0:1 compression pistons, 964 twin plug dizzy, stock carrera injectors, .7 BAR boost). I've since decided to add methanol/water injection and up the boost to 1 BAR. From the research I've done, it sounds like there are not that many companies that customize ECUs for our cars. In fact, Protomotive and Steve Wong are the only 2 I'm aware of. I've got a few questions that I'm hoping some of you may be able to answer: 1. Is there any other data needed to customize our ECUs other than air/fuel? 2. Will Protomotive customize an ECU based on air/fuel data you send to them? Or will they only provide more cookie-cutter programming? 3. Does anyone know of a tuner near Southeast Pennsylvania that will customize ECUs for our Bosch Motronic EFI systems? If there aren't any nearby, are there any companies that will customize based on air/fuel data that I could send to them? Thank you!

Talk to Todd at Protomotive about your setup. He's worked on a lot of these custom builds and can help you through the process.
Ideally you would want some dyno time to fine tune.
