Warren had a good procedure for getting these engines back to life after sitting - I'd search the archives.
If this were my engine, I would shoot the thing full of Chemtool, let it sit for a day or so, and then drive the heck out of it. These engines can come back to life when they are heated up and get hot. It may be slightly painful to get there, but at this point, you have little to lose. I'd be willing to bet a hamburger lunch that the thing comes back to life after about 100 miles of driving at 5000+ rpm. Don't be afraid to beat the snot out of it, to coin a phrase. -Wayne |

Thanks Wayne for the tip...after much searching I think I found warren's post: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/9834-opinions-my-engine-situation-requested.html#post68490 This procedure was for a 2.2 engine with carbs...mine is a '73.5 CIS car. Can I do this by removing the fuel injectors and pouring the Berrymans B-12 down the injector ports? I'd rather not remove the whole CIS intake. Thanks again for your help! |
Sure sounds good. Also, check on the Sea foam spray into the airbox post. you can use a large vacuum hose to suck that stuff in. If you can't find B-12 or Sea foam, you can u se automatic tranny fluid. Don't be afraid to make a mess oh and there will be plenty of smoke!!

i have done the seafoam thing on 2 of my cars. looking back, i would be careful about putting too much in at a time due to hydro lock, it could bend a rod or some other damage.
