SC reflector panel

So I'm driving over the Lion's Gate bridge yesterday (a three lane bridge over Burrad inlet in Vancouver) when I spot a gorgeous blue 911 way up ahead. I assume it's my buddy jonathan in his G50 Carrera, until I get a little closer and see the SC badges. The car looks fantastic, I see the PCA sticker and wonder aloud who it is. I pull up alongside, and wouldn't you know, it's the Blue Bomber (Doug Zielke)! What happens next is amazing - he snubs me! and then roars away at the next light. Now I know I'm in my daily driver and that no seld respecting P-car owner would be seen fraternizing with a guy driving a Chevy Tracker (the ultra-poor man's Cayenne)...but you'd think he'd at least give me a discrete nod or something.

Anyway - here's the real point of my post (before the moderators get on my butt)....as Doug is roaring away from the stop light and blowing pcar dust all over my pittiful excuse for a SUV... I notice that the lettering on his reflector panel is kind of clear rather than black, as they are on my car. I know Doug's car is cherry (and it is nice!) but I'm pretty sure they didn't start the clear lettering until most of the way through the 915 equipped 3.2 cars...does anyone know the real crossover date?

Uh Oh

Jasper I don't know the dates but I was sure they were later too.

Also I am sure Doug didn't mean to snub you, he might have had his mind on other things. He was probably on his way back from Supermans house and a little tired. But be that as it may. I think Doug will buy you a beer next time you get together.

Doug???

Actually Shawn - I was kidding around (sometimes that doesn't come across in email so well) Doug never did actually look at me and then snub me, he just didn't realize it was me (I'm pretty sure anyway). Doug and I travelled home together from Superman's house the day before. In fact I was surpirised to see him out and about so early the next day since he doesn't even live in my neighbourhood.

Doug is FAR too nice a guy to be snubbing people based on the type of car they drive.

Red lettering on a red reflector is the only replacement type available now (apart from a few places which seem to have NOS black on red - expensive!).

Whoops, just checked Pelican which shows both (for very disturbing prices).

I thought they were still able to be found cheaper?? They used to be much less. 1.5 years ago it was less that $200 (but black lettering was unavailable).

Jasper is pulling my leg here.
I would never "snub" a fellow SCWDP member.
The Blue Bomber gets admiring looks all the time, and I was just watching the traffic.

Actually, JvdW, I took Mrs. Z to breakfast at the Tommahawk, then dropped in on my crew at Pacific Center to see how the switchgear repairs were going (well, I'm happy to report).

It was a nice day so we took the Blue Bomber out for a little exercise afterwards. I didn't recognize you driving the GMC, not to mention, the lovely lady in the passengers seat.

As far as the reflector is concerned, it's the black lettered ones that are NLA. I think they were last seen around the 2.7 era.
The Bomber's reflector is the original piece as far as I could find out from John Broek, (inside joke....ha...ha!).

SCs have black letters.

The Bomber's original reflector . . .I think John Broek it.
Just look for the paperwork
