CV Boot Damage - Caution when pulling the motor
I believe that I did this when pulling to the motor and tranny. Today I replaced a cracked CV boot, and in the process found this. Perhaps it cut the boot? When pulling the motor and tranny, you need to be gentle with the dangling axels if you didn't remove them and only dangled them.
I can't think of another way to do this kind of damage. Anybody have another opinion on how this happens?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1284955482.jpg |
use a coathanger and hang them off the body

I leave the transaxle in when pulling the motor. That is one of the reasons why.

I did that to mine probably also or they where already bent. I bought a new one and massaged the other back into shape. Pretty easy to bend while dangling.

I used the coathanger trick to avoid this kind of damage and it worked!
