Tach is bobbing/bouncing?

Hey guys, I gots me a question.

Ive noticed something quite obnoxious driving the SC, and I dont know if it is an issue with SC's in general or just mine.

Whenever upshifting/downshifting/general revving of engine, regardless of ferocity or speed, the tach needle "bobs" or bounces up and down slightly, as if it was floating on water. Quite hard to explain. Idle is regular and steady, but of course the needle bobs until still when there is no throttle. Also, I have no idea if this hold any relevance, but OCCASIONALLY, (its happened all of 5 times), the tach is dead on start-up, but eventually reconnects.

Any assistance on this would be great. :p

first check your charging voltage @13.8V. overcharging can make it float. if that's ok, send it to north hollywood speedometer to fix the damper.

Sounds like the problem mine developed - turned out to be the voltage regulator going bad and getting intermittent over voltage.

Do you find that the dash lights surge as well (bright then dim then bright again etc) when the condition occurs?

The test is simple as per post two above.
