how much would any of you pay for a 66 912
these two cars are on e-bay. their auctions end in a couple of days or so.
is ~$14K a fair price for a well-sorted 66 912 cpe? the second unit is salvage-titled (recovered theft) and is missing, among other things, the horn button, the radio, speakers, spare and tools, and all four hub caps? i think the seats also need to be repaired. there is no reserve. pictures show that aside from the these missing itemsr, the car wasn't overly vandalized. would you guys consider a $5K bid excessive? remigio riding a "hooptie" in korea 86 targa |

I wouldn't want anything with a salvage title, no matter the price, but that's just me.
As for the other car, if it's a really nice car, especially if the motor has been rebuilt, it's probably worth that money. Keep in mind though that 912s are bog slow (yes, I owned one; it was fun while it lasted but I'm glad to be shed of it) and are very nearly as expensive to run as a 911, though God knows the valves are far easier to adjust. For whatever reason, there certainly seems to be a market for the things, especially here in So Cal.
