Idle Up for Aircon

Hi all,
Anyone ever devised a mechanism to increase idle whenever the aircon is switched on. Most modern cars have some sort of pneumatic relay or idle solenoid which gives a kick up in idle wen ac is on.

My 82 sc idle bogs down abit wen ac is selected. The idle would dip as low as 500rpm wen the accelerator is released abruptly. Increasing idle stop will work, but the rpm gets to high (1000rpm) wen the compressor kicks off.

Cheers all

I've seen one on an SC that was pretty clever. The AAR was moved to a bracket off the #4 intake runner, and a by-pass for the AAR was installed around it. This was done with plumbing fittings and an electric valve. I have no idea where he got the valve, but it was on a relay so that when the AC clutch went on the valve opened and air was directed around the AAR and increased the idle.

I just up my idle for the summer and then slow it down again in winter, the number of days that i dont need aircon in the summer is minimal.
