I pulled the trigger on a set of 17"Mille Miglia cup 1 wheels. My -84 is lowered and front fender lips are rolled. After mounting the wheels the outer left tyre rubs the fender pretty badly. Looking at the rear it looks like the left has less negative camber than the right. The car was aligned last year at a shop.
What the heck am I going to do; can't ever drive the car down the street as is. Changing the camber settings is a PITA from what I have read. I'm tempted to take it back to the shop but wanted to see if you all would have any good suggestions. Thanks

What size and offset are the Cup1's? And what size tires are you running?
I ran 255/40 Toyo RA1's and R888's on the back of my '86 with 9" Cup 1's (et15 offset) and had enough room to run 7mm spacers and still have plenty of clearance to the fender lip. If you're running the correct 255/40 tire and have a 15mm offset wheel, then the problem has to be the camber. Or something's bent.

Where in the Chicago area are you? I'm out in DuPage Cty, maybe I can take a look for you?

I put a set of 17 MM Cup II's on my 84 (not lowered) and had no issue...untill I went to the track then I had a slight rub on drivers side in the front. Rolled the fenders and no issues after that. The rears were no where near touching at all.
All of these cars are different and I guess it depends how "lowered" you are. I cannot imagine even at euro ride height with the right offset and rolled fenders that you would have an issue unless something else is wrong especially in the rear? You did not mention tires sizes either.

The rears are ET15 and fronts ET23.3, which I believe are correct for my car. Tyres are Kumho Ecstas, rear 265/40 and front 225/45.
I had a set or RA1s on 16 8s and 9s which worked out fine. Wheaton sound pretty far. I'm in NW Indiana, about 45 miles from downtown. I think the problem is the camber settings. I only need to increase the negative camber so that the top of the left outside wheel is in about another 1/4" or so. Maybe the shop would be my best bet...

Just measured the ride height. Front 24.75, rear 24.0-24.25. Funny thing is the problematic left rear is a tad bit higher. Again, the right rear seems ok.

Should fit, you can do a rough camber check w/ a 2' level. Camber issue would be my guess

25.5 and 25 fr&r would be normal euro height.

Part of your problem could be the rear tires. The 265/40 is going to be slightly taller and wider than the correct 255/40 size. But the offsets are right. Same ones I ran with no issue even on a very low track car.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna take her in tomorrow. This way the shop can make sure both rears fit and have equal settings. I have some experience with the rear suspension with lowering the car. It was not too much fun. Had to then pay $300 for an alignment. It's gonna cost me again but hopefully not nearly that much.
I'll post what they said and some pics.

Finally was able to take the car to the shop yesterday. The bad news is they can't make the wheels fit with the current ride height. The Fuchs are back on the car for now. I'll have plenty of time to adjust the ride height during the upcoming winter. Will probably try the Euro ride height for starters. Does anyone know off-hand what the correct spring plate angle is for this setup?
Thanks, jt

Thanks! The Euro height sounds like the thing to do. I basically took the car as low as I could with the stock Fuchs.
![]() Btw, are the measurements to the top of the fender well opening?
