Help with strange hole

Do you guys know what is supposed to go through the hole you can see in the attached picture?

I´m talking about the hole between the two A/C lines. My car is a 911 carrera year 1985 with factory A/C.

Thanks

Miguel

There are a number of things that can go there, but the first one to mind is the washer reservoir hose to washer pump. I may have a battery overflow hose there.

On my '87 there was a solid rubber grommet installed on the hole in that location. After replacing my battery, I used that hole to extend my battery vent. I replaced the battery, extended the battery vent tube with similar dia. clear (surgical) tubing, and routing it through the grommet, which I pierced, to the outside. Access it from the inside just under the front battery 'tray'.

No, it's about 4 feet from the smuggler's box.

The hole (LF fender has been removed) is just below the battery.

On my '82 that is where the headlight washer pump wires go.
