Scraping noise from clutch

I have a problem with my 83 SC, the engine and gear box were rebuilt 2000 mile ago and a new clutch and release bearing fitted. All seemed to be fine until two days ago, the clutch pedal is starting to drop to the floor and it is getting difficult to select gears. At first I thought that it was the clutch just bedding in and it would be resolved by an adjustment but today an very loud scraping noise is coming from the clutch. Everything related was replaced during the rebuild, cable, spring, etc. all this work was carried out by a Porsche specialist. Is it the clutch? does any one have any ideas. I do not want to drop the engine again so soon..

thank in advance

maybe its the pivot arm for the clutch rubbing.

Possibilities:

1 Broken finger of clutch release fork.

2 Pin at clutch pedal-to-cross shaft beginning to shear.

3 Pilot bearing dry and making noise.

4 Throw-out bearing bad.

The only one of the above that could cause both your symptoms is the first one. The others would have to be multiple problems.

The problem just got worse, while limping home the clutch pedal dropped to the floor and will not return. It looks serious!
