Help- washer switch / electrical

Help- After replacing the turn signal switch, I have no power to the car (no bulb check, etc.) When I pull the washer stalk for "wash", all power is available.

I've tried unplugging/reinstalling the bulkhead and ignition conenctors; sprayed contact cleaner on the wipr sitch contacts.

What did I screw up???

Addendum- The "wash" function on the stalk will power up the car without the key in the ignition.

What was the reason for the new turn signal switch?

So everything was working normaly before you plugged in the new switch?
Did you mess with any wiring before replacing the switch?
Sorry for all the ?'s but i can't see how a new turn signal switch would cause this.
Did you switch the plugs on the bulkhead by any chance.

Bulkead plugs are in correct position. I just removed the connector from the ignition switch and the bulkhead; "wasH' still gives power to car- moving wiper switch up engages starter!

Is there any way that an incorrect disconnect to the light (dash) switch could cause this?

Dumb*ss alert !

Yep. I was sure that the bulkhead connectors were installed right- I didn't think that the wiper/light connector fit in the ignition spot- WRONG!

Switched the wiper and ignition connectors and voila!

Thanks for the help.

No problem.
Glad I could help.
Before you throw out the old switch do a search on it.
You probably can fix your old one and have it for a spare.

Forgot to mention you should put a headlight relay on (if you haven't already) to prevent your new switch from failing.
Search "headlight relay"

That would be a great security feature- use the washer stalk to start the car and the key to fire up the washer....
