1977 Oil Pressure/Temp gauge

Will a 1977 oil pressure/temp gauge work in a 1984 911?

'77 temperature gauge wants the same sensor as 930 & 3.2 (rather than the 74-76, SC sensor), so that should be fine. Your clue would be it reading 40-50 degrees off.

Yes, but you have to change the pressure guage sending unit to read either the 77 0 to10 atm or 0 to 5 for the pressure guage that is already on the engine. The pressure bell on the 77 is 0 to 10 atm. The value is right on the side of the sending unit
The 77 temp guage uses the chrome sender so that matches the Carrera engine and the guage.

Bruce is right, and I edited out my WAG above...

911 606 111 00 pressure sender to use the 0-140 numbered gauge from the '77 or
911 606 135 00 (already fitted to the '84) to match the 5 bar non-numbered gauge.

Thanks guys.

So if I am reading this correctly, to use a 1977 oil pressure/temp gauge I will need to change the oil pressure sending unit on the crank case to the 1977 part. Thanks

Is there anything I can change within the '77 gauge itself to read the pressure correctly, instead of changing the oil pressure sending unit on the crankcase?

You unscrew the parts off the back of the guage and match that way. Your temp sender and guage have to match.
If you use the 5 atm sender on the engine anf the 0 to10 on the dash, the reading of 100# will actually be 50 #, the guage will be showing twice the actual.
