pics of broken wood steering wheels

can anyone post pics of a wooden steering wheel where the wood is broken

esp. interested in seeing ones that shattered in an accident

I may be wrong, but I thought the wood was laminated over metal.

I've not heard of it in the 911 world... you may want to thing about checking with the 356 crowd as they run some of the aluminum frame aftermarket wood wheels. Most of the wood wheels on the 911's are the steel frame wheels which are less likely to flex and then bend. Of course, the earliest 911 wood wheels did have an aluminum frame, and I think I heard anecdotally that they switched to the steel frames due to the concerns about a wheel fracturing during impact with the more flexible aluminum frame.
