Hi everyone, this is my first posting so go easy on me.
I have a 1968,2.0 911. The car is from California, i wanted to know what the oil temp sould be at normal driving speeds(up to 80-90mph.) Is the gauge in F or C for Californian cars, it has the original gauge and runs at about 180-200. Sorry if this sounds a dumb question, but i am worried about frying my engine. SIMON |

If it were Celsius you would have a severe problem. In farenhiet your temp is perfect. The gauge should be in farenheit.

Simon - Welcome to the PP BBS !!
Your gauge is in Fahrenheit (the scale should run from 140-280) & your temperature reading is in the right region - nothing to worry about! Incidentally if you don't have a Driver's Manual for your car email me - I have most manuals (NOS) for 1968-72 911 models. Andy Boyle(UK) '69 911E |
