Sunroof removal 911 1985

I want to remove the sunroof of my 1985 911. I think it's not that hard to do.

But I've one question. Do I have to remove the two bolts (yellow arrow) or the one screw/bolt (red arrow)?

I think both ways will work eventually, but when I remove the yellow bolt it looks like the bracket will still be attached to the sunroof (bracket slides in sidewards to sunroof, which makes removal difficult I think. When I only remove the red bolt I think installation will be difficult.

Can someone enlighten me on this one?

Thank you very much.

Kees.

Remove the 2 bolts because the single one is used to adjust the final closure as the roof moves into final position.

Thank you.

The roof is out.

Before removing the sunroof I pulled down the front of the trim panel and slided the sunroof headliner panel back into the roof.

Can I now slide out the headliner panel too (or is it still attached to something).

Thanks,

Kees.

If you want to remove the headliner panel without destroying it, you will need to loosen the screws on the guide rails, lift up the front ends, and slide the headliner panel out through the front. The panel is held in position by the slots in the guide rails. Possibly, some have been successful in bending the panel down in the middle, allowing for the sides to be released from the guide rail slots. Kind of tricky, IMO, as you could easily bend the thin metal framework but if others have done it that way, I hope they post.
