Anybody know the paint code for the Martini Rossi (red) racecar bumpers?

Anybody know what the paint code is for the Martini Rossi livery bumpers?

It wouldn't be Guards Red, would it?

...or is more fluorescent?

I'm looking at adding a rear valance to my car (...and painting it and the front splitter the proper shade of red/orange which comparing too old photos seems very close to my Guards Red 911)

Thanks
Stacy Chapman

I just realized that I posted this in the 911 section for my 914

Sorry about that... Moderators can you move this thread to the AutoX & Racing section for me?

Thanks

we used fluorescent red when we did the SCRS look for a client. Powder coated on the original aluminum bumper- BUT it will fade over time with exposure to the sun. All fluorescent coatings do to some extent- the Penske Marlboro race teams used to measure the amount of time exposed to the sun, when displaying their cars !

Good to know that fluorescents fade fast... That explains why a local crazy that did a VW Jetta up in fluorescent safety orange spray bombs has always faded funny on the roof and hood compared to the sides.

Currently I'm experimenting with a black primer with a fire red fluorescent (as the colour bleeds through bad) and it comes close to this look:

Picture from Club Porsche Castellón

However if there was an actual offical paint code ...I'd love to keep it authentic. There are other pictures of cars (like the one Sam Rossi did up) where the red accents in the striping are the same colour as the bumpers. So I took a spare Guards Red decklid from my 911 and laid it next to my bodywork ...and it looks very close per below:

Thanks

Sweet!

Thank you very much!

To have it ready for this weekends race I gave it a combination of a dark red rattle can paint with a fog of fluorescent safety orange to get close. Over the winter I'll do it up right with the correct paint.

I'll post pictures of it at this weekends race when I get back...

Thanks
S.Chapman
