BAE turbo installed ok, but we routed the PCV wrong
It seems like we have pressurized the crankcase PCV system.
Can anyone help us figure out which hose(s) we connected wrong? I'll reach in there and try to take some pics in case anyone here has been through this. |
Where is your oil-tank vent hose going? You may need an oil catch-can in the crankcase/oil-tank ventilation setup.

Connect the crankcase vent to oil tank and vent oil tank to catch can and atmosphere vent to turbo suction will suck oil vapor into turbo.

The idea of positive crankcase ventilation IS to draw blowby vapour into the engine to be burned. You may need to restrict the flow and consider a catch can seperator to get just vapour and not any quantity of oil. The vent hose has a restrictor in it already as it is usually connected to manifold vac in a NA application.Venting into the airfilter would be my choice.

what about a getting pvc valve from a 930 ? that should have a check valve to prevent the boost pressure from pressurizing the crank case.

A check valve won,t work because you would then have nil crankcase evacuation when you need it the most. blowby is greatest under boost. The early 930 used a simple vent system similar to what I am suggesting. later 930 added a catch can and drainback hose to assist in oil/vapour seperation.

You need to put some photos up of what you have. Have you done a leakdown test?
