Stock dizzy + Coil on Plug = twin plug option?
Is it feasible to distribute a low voltage trigger signal through the stock distributor to a coil-on-plug igniter to generate a spark for twin (or single) plugs?
Here's how I imagine it would work:
You could use an integral advance or phased advance mechanism pretty easily with this setup. The only thing that changes is where the high voltage current is generated. I want to try this! |
you think that would work but, there is no direct connection in the dissy cap and the rotor so low voltage won't bridge the gap. And, the signal to the COP just needs a millisecond signal, not a long (in degrees) signal that a dissy does. You could use the dissy to trigger a box that sends a signal to the COP's. many units out there try MegaJolt.com

MegaSquirt? Yea, I knew I could do that, but wanted to keep it "simple". Very good point on low voltage not bridging the connection.
