Problem plumbing a fuel cell

Searched; found nothing on this particular issue.
My fuel cell outlet is AN -6 using hose with 3/8" inside diameter. I'm trying to connect to the in-tunnel plastic line which seems to have an outside diameter of 11.8mm or about 15/32", very close to 1/2" and a lot bigger than 3/8".
A reducing connector in the line somewhere will cut fuel flow to near nothing.
But forcing a 3/8" hose over a nearly 1/2" connector seems like, well, too much of a stretch. Especially as it is being forced over plastic. I thought of changing the fuel cell connection to -8 using 1/2" ID hose. But then the attachment to the inside-tunnel line would be a bit sloppy. Surely someone has faced this issue. Thoughts?
