Quick engine ID

Hi all,
Come anyone do me a quick favour and help me identify this engine. It's for a friend who can't wait until I get home from work to look it up in a book.

Thanks in advance

the number he gave me was

*6210228*

Should be a type 911/01 motor with a 911/01 gearbox for a '70 911E.

From my reference looks like this is the motor for a Coupe (1088 made) or possibly a Targa (935 made).

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Kurt

Actually it's a 71E engine. Almost identical to the 70E except for the 71's had case squirters.

BK:

You are correct. I always seem to forget that my reference book - "The Porsche Book" by Boschen and Barth - lists the numbers/models by year of production and not the actual model year!

Thanks for the heads-up.

Kurt
