Hello everyone,
I am actually looking for a member in the Northern Virginia area that can take a look at my recently acquired 1983 911SC and can share some technical information. I live in the Woodbridge, VA area and I am about 25 minutes from DC. About my 911 SC: Purchased the vehicle out of Florida two weeks ago with about 96,500 miles on it. The car has been in storage for over 5 years and modified to run in hot weather. Yes the previous owner took out the heater, hoses, etc. It needs a paint job and the interiors look pretty good. The engine seems strong but the car surges after hot. This is were I hope to meet someone that can assist me to adjust the CIS air/gas mixture. I have read many of the postings but I don't want to mess with the car's system until a drive it for about 100 miles with gas treatments. The more I run the car the better it gets since it has been in storage for so long. I purchased the 101 project book and technical manuals. Any assistance will be highly appreciated. Best regards and feel free to contact me. Thanks, Glenn ![]() |

Thanks for the information. I was planning to drop the car at the body shop after taking care of all mechanical details but I could not resist. So last Saturday I installed new tires and dropped the car off for a full restoration. ETA 3 weeks. Yesterday the car was taken apart to include the front and rear windshield and everything else. I was extremely happy for not finding any traces of rust under the carriage and in all of the obvious places.
The car had been in storage for over 5 years and defenitely needs to be driven for another 200 miles. I expect that some of the surgin problems to get better as it has been after driving the car for a while with new gas and threatment. thanks again, Glenn |
