stretch gauge
Anyone in the LA area have a (rod bolt) stretch gauge they might be willing to rent/loan for a day or two? Just starting to put my 79SC 3.0 to 3.2 back together.

buy the JEGS one. just used mine to do my 930 rods.
its not that expensive. I did several test to make sure the measurements were repeatable each time I removed it and put it back before I used it and it was fine. spring is a little weak but once I got it figured out how to hold it it was fine.

Point micrometer
After striking out on the stretch gauge, and thinking about the JEGS alternative, I decided to go with a SHARS point micrometer. About the same price as the JEGS gauge, but I figured I'd get a lot more use out of the micrometer down the line.
