Fuel pressure gauge
I'm looking to buy a fuel gauge kit (with the necessary hoses, fittings and valve to test a CIS).
In the past, I read that JC Whitney had a reasonably priced item, but I couldn't find it at their site. Any other pointers for something similar ? |

I got the fuel pressure gauge kit from Harbor Freight. Normally, I don't like to buy tools from them, but for something used so infrequently, I gave it a shot.
The kit has everything you will need. I ended up taking off the quick connect fittings and used what was in the kit to make a CIS specific setup. Worked great and is pretty inexpensive. I would think they will ship to Portugal. Best of luck.

Yes. That looks like the one and should work fine.

Fuel pressure gauge.........
The unit does not look like it has a shut-off valve. You need the shut-off valve to measure the fuel system pressure. Otherwise, it will be good for control pressure reading only. HTH.

I guess I can use it to measure system pressure without the valve by rearranging the connections, although not the best choice...

That one also specifically says "Fits most systems (except for Bosch, CIS-Jetronic and GM throttle body systems)"
In the US, CIS tester kits cost at least 2-3x as much as ones for US cars.. My local O'Reilly has a GM tester kit for $40, but want more like $90 for a CIS one - which they'd have to order. You'd think that In Europe, it'd be the other way around for CIS test kits... I ended up buying the one Pelican sells http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/smart/more_info.cgi?pn=TOL-TA33865&catalog_description=C.I.S.%20K-Jetronic%20Fuel%20Injection%20Tester%20with%20Case.. Same thing was available online elsewhere for a few bucks less - but our host showed it in stock and it arrived as promptly as you'd expect.

Buy it from our host. I tried first from JC Whitney and they didn't have it in stock. Ship date just kept moving back a week, then two, finally a month and I just canceled. The one from here is good but make sure you clean the fittings. When I inspected mine, I saw it was full of metal shavings! Fortunately, I checked it before usage.

The other thing about the gauge setup from Pelican is that it is made from US parts. It looks like it might outlast the Chinese made one from Harbor Freight.
