Porsche page with New York 9-11-01 pictures

Found this by coincidence and thought that I'd post the link.

http://home.t-online.de/home/05121513490-0001/newyork.htm

Amazing pictures. I don't think I can ever fully understand how awful this is.

Angry

Now the FD who have been doing the search are getting sick from all the toxic air. Don't know about others.

I almost moved this thread to the off-topic forum, but other threads on this subject have remained, so I'll go with the flow.

I will however warn potential viewers of the graphic nature of the pictures: there are more than your fair share of jumper pictures. It's not for the weak of heart.

Although the photos are disturbing (to put it mildly), I think it is useful to periodically view these in order that we never forget or minimize what happened. When people like Amnesty International start complaining about us putting hoods and shackles on these POW - terroists, they really need to spend some quality time examining these photos. -- Curt

Thanks for not moving the thread old_skul. Although the images are graphic, it is indeed important we remember why good people like LeLand and the rest of our armed forces are engaged in Afghanistan.
After I finished reading this thread, my daughter called to me from the living room. It seemed she found a picture that she had taken of the NY SkyLine almost a year to the day of the tragedy. I hope you don't mind if I include the picture below, looking at it brought as much emotion to both my daughter and I as the images in the links did. Thanks Mikkel

Is it just me, or does this happen to you as well:

When you watch a movie that has the New York skyline, and you see the World Trade Center in it, do you catch your breath, then get a sick feeling in your stomach?

The other day I was watching the old movie "Saturday Night Fever" and there was a shot of the sun setting on the WTC and I was thinking about how much different the world seemed back then........

Amnesty was right. We aren't treating them well at all. So let's build us a soccer stadium and make them feel more "welcome".

Dear God. That site contains the most stark photos I've seen.

SilverSC, do you have a full size version of that photo? If you do, I'd love it if you sent a copy to the email address posted in my profile.

Yes, let's build a nice soccer stadium. We can invite the Cubans over for a good friendly exhibition game. Then during the break, we can haul out some "detainees" and cap the rat f*ckers in the head. Should make them feel right at home.

Sent an email via the BBS link you gave, no email address appears there, just a form field... Not sure if you got it or not, but if you email me at larry@skyweb.net I'd be happy to email you fullsize copy.

Take care

These leftist cretins are also complaining about shaving the detainees' heads and beards before putting them on the plane. They claimed that this was done to humiliate them. They failed to report that each one of them was infested with lice. Sheesh.

It's awful to think of the people who died and the sudden separation they must have from everyone that they loved.

As our country has done in the past, I hope that we have the capability to "separate the sin from the sinner" and start to build the bridges needed to defuse the hate in the world. Thankfully for us we have people such as Leland and RJ who are willing to do the dirty work of rooting out the people who did this and making sure that the physical costs of their actions are far greater then any benefit that they can hope to receive.

But we also need to learn to forgive since the benefits to the world are far greater then any immediate satisfaction that we'll receive from exacting revenge. I think that the fun that we receive from our Porsches (and the friends that we make with them) are a perfect example. The cars that we enjoy would not exist if the people of the USA had not forgiven the Germans for WWII and helped them to rebuild a peaceful society.

Amnesty Int'l was worth listening to in the days of Soviet political prisoners. But now they take the attitude that no one is ever guilty, and if they are, they should not be punished at all. There's no country in the world, in which I'd rather stand trial or be in prison than the US. Yet A.I. constantly wastes their resources criticizing us. I lost two friends in the WTC, visited Ground Zero recently, see the Pentagon weekly and am starting to hate A.I. as much as al Qaeda.

The men involved in WTC search and recovery that survived are the unsung heros of that tragedy. Those that did die will be remembered by history for ever. The flag raising at Ground Zero is one of the most emotional acts felt by the whole U.S. At present it appears the politicans want to adjust history. The men who raised the flag are to "be adjusted" for political gain. I do not agree. If you have any concern for this history please show your support for the New York Fire Department. http://www.petitiononline.com/flgraise/
