Project near done..
 

OK so I am nearing the completion of my project. I know I know, we are never done. There is always more we can do to these cars. Maybe a better description is.. I am about to begin the ROAD PART of enjoying this car.

Let me start by saying that I have always loved the Porsche. I actually did a report in 6th grade about Ferdinand Porsche. Can you imagine that? I always dreamed about owning one but never thought I would be able to. Then after the career was set divorce happened and I figured I WILL FIND A WAY!!

I owned a few "project porsches" a 928 another Targa and even a 72 Coupe but life always got in the way and forced me to sell before they were finished. I gave my 70 year old mother the 944 I had and decided I am going to make this happen.

So here is her story.

She originally came to me as the Parts car for my 72 Couple project. It was cheaper for me to buy the entire car then just the drive train that I needed. The plan was to swap the drive train and updated electronics into the 72 and build an RS type, but I ended up selling the 72 to a guy in Norway who wanted to build a Ralley car out of it.
Now the guy who i purchased the car from screwed me big time. The targa was only supposed to be missing fenders, doors and hood when I bought it. The interior was taken out and supposed to be all there..... well let me just say this.. each time I worked on the car I found more stuff the guy removed from the car between me inspecting it and when it was delivered.

So I started hunting down the parts I needed and putting her back together slowly but with loving admiration each time she became more of the car she used to be and deserved to be again.

somewhere along the way I switched gears and decided to make her look more modern and sleek.. I love the 964 style so I decided to go that route

So now we just got done painting her.... I have a few odds and ends to finish up. like installing the tail lights, headlight and a marker.. minor parts here and there but I definetely see the light at the end of the tunnel and for once its not the train coming down on me! The color is a gun metal grey with a hint of green metallic. Man does it POP in the sun light!!

Nice huh?? My brother in law is a restoration guy.. We did that for a client. He has won almost every show he has entered with it.. we just finished a 67 mustang for another client it went from this

P Car looks lovely.
It must make life much easier being in the resto business.
Adore the GL, not just the look which is awsome, but the sound.

Yes having a brother in law who does restoration work makes things much easier... even though he is an american muscle car guy and know nothing of Porsches.... and know says he hates them LOL

The barter system works great... he gets free labor when he needs it and I get work done on my car
