Wire in Steering Column (pic)
I'm replacing the turn signal switch. While removing the eight screws that hold the upper and lower steering column covers, I forgot what the wire dangling in the pic below was attached to. Can anyone help refresh my memory? Thanks.

It is grounded onto one of the two top screws

That's weird. On both of mine, it was attached to the bottom right screw.

bottom right side screw that holds the plastic cover on also holds this to ground. |
On my 73.5 911T that ground wire is connected to the lower left screw.

Since it's a ground, it doesn't matter, just make sure the wire is not being pulled or chafed.
|
Good point. Looks like it has been attached before upper right, and reaching that far would keep it out of the way from the stated chafing, etc.
|
Mine was on the bottom right (76 911S) between the plastic and the metal plate, serving as the ground for the horn. The hard part is getting the little screw through the plastic shroud without the metal ground clip sliding out of the way.

I just did the same thing as Amanda. Thanks for the post! I put nit on the bottom right.
