Mystery

I need a little help from the group. I have an 83 911. There is a handle behind the wiper switch on the Rt side of the steering column. It does not appear to do anything. I cannot find it in my owner's manual. What is it for exactly? What is supposed to happen when I try to use it? I will attempt to add pics to this post.

Thanks
Herman

Isn't that the cruise control lever? Supposed to be, I think, at least on my car. It doesn't work, in any case.

It's the cruise control. Look at the decall on the dash right behind it for directions/use.

There is a sticker on you kneepad in your picture that explains it...
I've never seen working cruise control on a Porsche.

The cruise on both my Carreras worked perfectly! I know I'm in the minority, and I consider myself lucky for that. The drive to KC is two hours of straight and flat! Actually, neither worked when I bought them, but a simple adjustment to the brake switch at the pedal cluster made them both work beautifully.

Funny....the instruction sticker is on the dash hidden by the hand showing the lever !!!... guess it had to happen sometime...

Cruise works fine.....just another example of goofy Porsche electrical engineers at work again....if the unit fails, it doesn't fail "off".....it fails "high".....woohooo....who says Porsche doesn't have a sense of humor?
