goingsuperfast.com timing wheel question

Got my MegaJolt/EDIS ignition up and running today. I already had Megasquirt and it now runs off the MJ Tach output. The engine runs silky smooth but I am confused with the timing marks on the new goingsuperfast.com 36-1pulley wheel. At idle, with a timing lamp it runs at an indicated 25 BTDC which obviously is not correct.

Timing advances with RPM, so the EDIS is indeed running off the MegaJolt, and not in fixed 10 BTDC limp home mode.
I have problem with connecting to the MegaJolt box so hard to tell what is happening there.

Is it possible at all to put the goingsuperfast.com 36-1pulley wheel on wrong ? If it is wrong, the timing marks would have to be off compared to the dowel pin and the 36-1 wheel. Does this make sense to anyone ?

It would not run at all if everything was not set correctly. Don't use a timing light, use the software and a computer to set timing.

no, I will not run it at all until I know whats going on. But how can it be possible to have the timing marks so much off ? Judged by the way it runs it has the 5 degrees BTDC I set it up with in the software.

The timing marks puzzle me. Unfortunately I didn't compare marks on the new timing wheel with the old pulley before I assembled. I guess I may have to take it apart again.

It only fits on the crank one way. as long as the pick-up is 6 teeth from the notch at tdc you should be in the ballpark, the rest is set by the computer. there is no adjustments once you get the wheel installed and the sensor in place. All adjustments are made in the computer. Toss the timing light in the junk bin, you will never need it.

Got it. No timing light. And no need to take out to study the timing wheel.

Still it is weird with the marks.

Amazing how nice the engine runs. Must get the connectivity issue sorted and play with it. The strange thing is I have intermittent contact, enough to load the ignition map, and occasional MAP readings.

I didn't hook up the tach yet. Will the 80SC tach work off the EDIS tach out ?

Fwiw, several people have mentioned here that their goingsuperfast pulleys are incorrectly marked. HTH!

Here is a pic of mine. No marks on it just TDC, 5˚, and 120˚ mark for valve adjustment'
