Carrera Motronic box: Grounded to chassis?

Looking under the driver's seat of the Carrera, is the ECU box grounded (with the mounting nuts) to the chassis? I was wondering if some small, rubber washers might absorb some vibration.

Thanks...

Mines not even mounted, its just laying under the seat. I've been meaning to getting around to this and I had the same idea with the rubber mounts. I'm sure it will be fine but maybe others will chime in...

There is at least one posting to a thread on the boxes. The gent fabricated something for the box to absorb the punishment, and is very happy with it. I believe the box is grounded by a wire in the harness, and does not ground on the floorboard.

The dme grounds all seem to be on the intake runner in the engine compartment, not the dme housing. Make sure your transmission to chassis ground strap is good.

Thanks guys. I replaced the alternator not long ago and along with it, the battery ground, transmission ground and alternator ground. All new and shiny

I ran soft rubber washers under the mounting studs of my 85 Carrera's DME... and posted that in this forum... no issues.

Another factoid....the DME relay fails ..IMHO...because it is plugged-in "sideways". The entire weight of the relay is supported in the air by the bottom "pins" of the relay... resulting in a HUGE overhanging moment that stresses the "bottom" of the relay(base) where the pins are plugged-in sideways into the receptacle. Am I describing this accurately enough to form a mental picture? The base of the relay then develops hairline cracks on the soldered pins from moving too much up and down, pivoting on its base. Solution?---> place another rubber piece under the "side" ( the real "bottom") of the relay that is just "hanging" there in air, to support the relay better and to unload the base/pins from stress !
