Now that it's done...
Is there an easier method..?
'88 Carrera Had to remove the front condenser blower to install a new battery. Hours and lots of axle grease to get the blower inlet to slide back through the rubber grommet. |

It's not easy to change a battery in one of these cars, if you have the longer, 88 AH version. But, it can be done without removing the condenser fan. I can't explain how, other than to say you have to hold it at a certain angle. It helps to have more than one person.
Frankly, these cars are fine with the shorter 66AH battery and it is easier to replace. JR |

I made a sled and installed on Optima Redtop with plenty of room.
Might be the wrong thread to ask on.... Does a standard battery give off corrosive gas? Does an Optima give off less or not any corrosive gas? |
