Tach with EDIS

Anyone out there with a quick reply on how to hook up the 80SC tach to EDIS ignition ?

I managed to connect the ignition easy enough but how to get the tach working remains unclear.

Grateful for any advice

Rgds

there is a signal wire off of EDIS that connects to the tach lead and drives the tach without any problem. I'll look into it after work for details.

I found this on the web ( from here Megasquirt MSEXTRA and MS3EFI support forum • View topic - Dual EDIS 6 wiring ):

pin 1 = PIP (raw signal to MS)
pin 2 = IDM (tach signal)
pin 3 = SPOUT (modified spark angle from MS)
pin 4 = Ignition Ground
pin 5 = Crank Sensor -
pin 6 = Crank Sensor +
pin 7 = Shield Ground
pin 8 = Power
pin 9 = Ground
pin 10 = coil A
pin 11 = coil C
pin 12 = coil B

There should be a purple wire with a black stripe you connect to PIN 2 on the EDIS which may vary in color depending on what car the EDIS harness came from. Look on the back of your tach and on the bottom there will be a positive, negative and the tach signal wire. Mine was purple, but I think it is the same for the SC. Find that wire in the harness coming into the engine compartment and splice that into PIN 2. Simple as that.......

Thanks. Just didn't know whether the EDIS tach would drive the SC tacho. I've seen several posts concerning this.
