Power seat conversion

Hello everyone I was thinking of changing my 80 SC over to power seats out of an 85 I have two questions before I spend the money 1 Do the tracks line up or will I have to do some welding? 2 When I wire up the seats do I simply provide a hot lead and a ground to the motors on the new seats or is there something more to it? Thanks for your help

The seats will fit just fine, no changes necessary. Be aware that that the power seat is a bit higher if that matters to you.
Wiring is simple though I would suggest you had a fuse, just in case.

I have 944 seats in my 82, since I rarely change the setting I just hooked up a temporary 12 volts, got it were I wanted it and left it.

power seats are heavy - why do you want them?

The nice thing about power seats is that you can more easily change your seating position during a long drive.

Power Seats

Not really worried about the weight issue my car is just a weekend driver the seats in my car now are destroyed and rather then rebuild the seats I found a decent set of power ones so thought why not if they fit might as well switch and as said here they are easier to adjust. Thanks for the advice I figured I would put a fuse in the hot side on each sounds like a good idea
