Thanks so much! Yes, that is what it says but have never seen it before and not sure if it was a factory option or not...... This is my first 911!

If you have black carpets and a black headliner, my guess would be Silver Grey full leather, code HE. Shoot a picture of your option sticker and give me the build date on the car.

It is Linen- you could order the dash & carpet in various colors to co ordinate with the exterior color of the car- for example we would order a Blue car with Linen seats with Blue carpet & dash as opposed to Linen carpet which had the tendency to show more wear & tear

If it's Black/Linen, I'm still not coming up with a code of SM...

Porsche Crest What grey is this?

Hi. I have a 1985 UK 3.2 911 in Grand Prix White. The interior is a shade of grey with white piping (it was the 80s). I can't find out what colour the grey is to touch up 30 years of wear and tear. The code on the sticker under the bonnet is very faded but it looks like "LH". See below for a photo of the driver's side seat.

It's my daily driver and I've had it for 10 years so time for some TLC.

If you know the colour please let me know

Cheers,

Stu

Might be grey-green. Look under your trunk lid near the latch for the option sticker and read the interior code off of it.

I took my '88 with the interior code "HR" to a my local auto upholstery shop to have the torn driver's seat panel replaced. I am fairly certain that Javadog nailed it early when he said "Silver Grey special leather with Marine blue carpets and leatherette belt line."

However, my leather shop had photos of swatches with different color names than the factory. This is what he had:
(image courtesy of Classic Nine Leather Shop). The closest was "Linen", but I wasn't sure enough to have him proceed.

This is my interior:

Perhaps my best bet is to roll the dice with Linen and send the original out to Leatherique to have a custom dye made. Before I do that, I'll call the Classic Nine leather shop and ask what they think. Has anyone else had experience with this color/swatch set?

The problem with aftermarket leather suppliers, and their sample books, is that they offer only a fraction of what Porsche did and often the samples are from a bunch of different eras. And, sometimes the leather colors aren't a good match, anyway.

I used to have a Porsche fabric sample book that covered the 70's and 80's. It was three or four inches thick and contained hundreds of samples.

The color you have might be a little obscure. The first thing I'd do is see if Porsche still has any of the interior pieces in that color left in their parts inventory. Even if it is the wrong piece, maybe it could be used to supply a piece of leather large enough to make your repair. Failing that, I'd have a dye made and use it to color whatever piece of leather you use.

HR in 1988 is SPEC LTHR/LTHTT BLT-SILVR GREY
HQ in 1988 is SPEC LTHR/LTHTT BLT-SILVR GREY

The difference is in the carpet color.

Not sure why that sample leather chart does not have Silver Grey on it, but it was definitely an option in '88.

Hi JR

I've just recently bought an '84 Carrera with a properly poked interior.

The whole car needs re-doing would it be possible to decipher my interior colour and material from this options sticker?

Thanks in advance!

I think the name for that was Dark Blue. My source material, which may have a few errors, doesn't show an interior code of CS for 1984 but there was a code of CS used in 1985 that was for a color called Blue. I only see one color in PET for those years, called Blue, and the color code for Blue leather is KZ3 and the color code for Blue leatherette is 1HH.

JR,
Would you happen to have any listing for code "XP" in a 1987 924S.
Seats are a grey/ beige leatherette with Porsche Script insert -- carpet a light colour.

Sorry, don't have any documentation on the 924.
