Starter question

I have a hi torque starter in the 72 trans which fits great, bought from pelican. I'm installing a 75 trans, but this starter does not fit into my 75 trans as it's just a little to big for the opening. Am I missing something here; are the starters different sizes for different years-looks like the hi torque starter has the same part number for a 72 and a 75?
Thanks

You need to try a little harder, they should all fit.

I had to take a dremel to the starter to get it to fit because there was no way it was going in any other way. Maybe the housing on the tranny is a tad bent?
