Carrera script

On my '85' Carrera someone tried to take my Carrera script on the back of the decklid. Well it did not just pop off, instead half the letter C broke off. If I order a new plastic script, how to I get the rest of the script off? And what do I use to put the new letters on? Thank you, Nick

Probably you can use a hair drier to heat and soften the glue, but be careful not to burn your paint.
The new lettering has double sided glue foam.

I just replaced mine.

Apply gentle heat and it should come off. Clean up with prepsol or similar.

I applied the new one by attaching masking tape to the lid and measuring the correct distance on the tape and then lining up the script in the correct position.
Make sure you know the correct placement dimensions.

Cheers,

Geoff.

Drive the car to get the engine (and lid) hot. Park it the sun to warm it up some more. Run some dental floss underneath to "cut" through the adhesive.
