rear seat top removeal

Hey Guy's what size or type of bolt is that .. to get the rear seat top's out .. I spent way to much time trying to figure it out , and and finally walked away from the car angry with the seat backs still inplace.. HELP me please guy's.

Eric,

I'm not sure if you're talking about removing the rear seat backs, if you are, my '81 has a large slotted screw holding each seat. One on each seat on the outer lower part of the seat. Once removed, you can remove the seat back by sliding it off the center bracket. Make sure you detach the carpet from the rear.

i'M TRYING TO REMOVE THE BOLS THAT ARE IN THE BOLTS THAT ARE IN LINE WITH THE CENTER .. THE ONE WITH THE HOOP LIKE BRACE ON IT.

do you happen to know the bolt size....if I can figure that out I may be able to use some of work's many tools to remove them on my lunch....

Hmmmm.........that's weird. I guess your '78 differs from my '81. There's no bolt on the center brace. There'a a stud that the seat bracket slides on to. Once you remove the outer bolt, the seat back slides off of the center brace. Sorry I couldn't help.

Mine has a large slotted type bolt. I used a slotted screwdriver. I'll try to take a pic of the bolt. Hold on............

He** you could be right .. maybe thats why i couldn't get it out.... I'll get it out now for sure i'm sure thet are the same .... you may have just solved my problem it was dark outside wheni was trying so ... we'll see.

Hello

Don´t forget to remove the carpet as this is attached to the rear wall under the "parcelshelfcover".
