sc caliper rebuild
I was finally able to get both pistons out of their respective cylinder bores. I cleaned everything up so now the pistons will seat in the bore but will pop out easy. I purchased the required rebuild kit but now have a quetion. I know the Square edged rubber o ring goes into the cylinder bore. How exactly does the piston seal fit over the piston? It seems to go either way. Iplan on sandblasting the calipers and painting them before reassembly. Thanks beany

the inner part of the seal goes over the piston ridge, sometimes the ridge has rusted off. The outer edge of the seal goes over the ridge on the caliper. then the retaining ring. It's just a dust seal, brakes work with or without it. It can go either way.

The piston seal will go so you see the writing on it when it is installed. In other words, you install it so the outer lip of the seal will be going over (out board) of the cylinder bore and you then put the retaining clip over it. I think that I took some pictures when I rebuilt mines, I will see tonight if can find them and post them later if you still need the pictures.
