Apparent Non-Pelican @ Gas Station

So I roll up to a Chevron station (in my DD, not P-car) and see this guy, appearing to be just off of work, putting motor oil in his 3.2 Carrera Cab. The only mod I could see was the Euro height - otherwise all stock, and fairly clean.

As I got closer, I see like 5 or 6 quarts of whatever Chevron brand the station carries. As I began to fill my car with gas, he walks up and tosses at least 3 empty quarts into the trash, then goes back and starts emptying another into his car. And he had at least one more qt. on the ground. WTF?

I guess I'll give him credit for pouring 20W-50 in there, but damn, am I missing something? Forget that he wasn't using Brad Penn, Kendall, etc. Except when I do an oil change, I've never poured more than a quart at a time to top-off. I think it's safe to assume this guy in dress-casual attire didn't just change his oil himself at the service station. I also don't recall him looking at a dipstick at anytime.

I usually strike up a conversation when I see another air-cooled P-car owner, even while not driving mine. I'm not sure I'd have anything to say to this dude that wouldn't have him thinking I was some kind of a-hole. Maybe some of us will be rolling around with various parts off his ride sometime in the future.

Maybe he's just checked the dipstick. With the engine not running.

I tried to help a young kid once who was adding tons of oil to his 911 at a gas station, just like this scenario.

Trust me, it's almost pointless to say anything. They think you're being rude, and they get annoyed at someone else telling them how to check the oil.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I roll up to a Chevron station in my P-car just off of work, went in, got some stuff from the store, and decided to check the motor oil in my all stock 3.2 Carrera cab (Euro ride height, though).

Was weird, the oil level was really low. I added a quart, checked the dipstick, but still low! So I went in and got 5 or 6 more quarts of Chevron 20-50 and put them all in, finally it showed as level on the dipstick! Started the car up and headed out on my way.

The weird thing, well, two weird things, are (1) some gal was checking me out the whole time (was probably just my good looks, I figured) and (2) it smokes like crazy now!

WTF?

Amanda,

You were probably looking at Mclovin ...
Poor guy,all along he thought you were looking at his dipstick ... lol

Had to throw that in

Cheers !
