Creaky SC Clutch

I have been living with a creaky clutch since I bought the car. Inspired by several posts here, last night I removed the carpet and board over the pedal cluster. In just 15 minutes with the help of a vacuum and some WD-40 the creak is completely gone.

Honestly, the hardest part was taking out the old carpet without damaging it. While it was out and noticeably very dirty, I scrubbed it with some woolite. Much better.

Simple task and so rewarding. Thank you for the pedal cluster posts that helped me get this job done!

Mark

I did the same thing this summer. I still had the creaky even though I had rebuilt the cluster.

It's nice and quiet now.

How do you like the bare pedals? I went back to the rubber pads as I didn't get the same feel without them.

WD40 does not have the best lubricant properties. You may want to take out the pedal assembly and clean and lube it. While there check the bushings for wear and replace any worn parts.
