My '87 Carpet is nearly perfect, but...
The carpet in my '87 is original sliverknit, black. I've cleaned it very well, fluffed it up the best I can, but in some areas, it's not perfect.
I could spend $600+ on new from Appbiz, or try to take it that last 5% to perfect. In reality, the only areas imperfect are the footrest area, the door sills, and the mohawk looking bit on the hump between the 2 rear seats. I really think there has got to be a way for under $600 to get those corrected, and matched to color. CATTMAN

Bob at APPBIZ here
We can sell you Black Sliverknit by the yard and throw in some edge binding. you copuld then fabricate thoses pieces. My fear would be that the new stuff would not match the existing due to fade over the years. Let me know if you would like for us tto send you a sample. Bob |

Bob,
That's sounds like a great idea (I might be interested as well) but what about the underside "backing". The factory carpet has a textured bottom side.

The factory carpet has an intregal knit backing, hence Sliverknit. (Pronounced Slyver-nit) some areas had addtional backing glued on.
