This 77 911S looks very nice....
I have asked seller for more info.
It would be perfect for me (maybe a little expensive) because it is in lower taxation group when I import it to Denmark. The only thing I find odd is the rust-coloring on undergarriage by rea suspension and further forward. Any thoughts? The brown stuff on the undercarridge is rust proofing like Tectyl.

This is a little out of my expertise, but from the pictures it appears this still has the thermo-reactors for emissions. From what I've read over the years, the 2.7L plus the thermo-reactors equals a short engine life.

100,000 miles with thermal reactors can't be a good thing... car looks solid so I guess it would come down to what the PPI reports and the price.

The car does not have thermal reactors. The pipe on the right side of the exhaust manifold is part of the exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR.) The 77's were galvanized so rust issues are improved, though never eliminated. The bottom looks good and I agree the discoloring is from wax undercoat. Looks like someone touched up the metal plugs in the floor with black undercoat, as well as by the jack point. All in all, the car looks good. This dealer does a great marketing job and usually commands higher prices but the cars appear to be decent but I cannot comment from first-hand experience. The ppi should tell you what you need to know and you need to decide if the price asked is worth this particular car.

Thanks for the comment....but try to look at the spot right in front of the lifts arm (right). That is rust! Or else I need glasses!

Yes, that is rust at both jack point sockets.
It may/ may not be easily repairable. There also may be other rust... battery area, etc. |

I believe this is the same - just before the dealer (stealer) got it. Nice profit!!!!

That tube to the right of the drain on the engine is EGR, being in Cali, you have to have it in place.
The SC s of 78/79 have the same tap off the cross pipe on the front of the engine...Removed 2 recently in NC. Bruce |

Christian, how did you find that AD?
If he's charging 10k more, that's WAY too much for a mid-year. |
