Question Warm up regulator for 89 930 with K27

With cold start engine problem (could not step on gas, the engine is dying), the advise was to check the warm up regulator(WUR). Would you please help me to understand the following?

1. What is function of WUR? It seems like it has a heater in WUR.
2. Is there a simple way to check WUR whether it is bad or not? It is suggested to check fuel pressure. How do I do it? Do I need a special tool?

Thank you for your time.

The WUR controls the mixture @ all times, not just during warmup. There is a bimetal strip inside it that gets heated via current and engine heat and varies the control pressure, which varies the mix.

You can check the control pressures (and w/ that, the functioning of the WUR) by using a presure gauge, wjich can be purchased from our host and others.

If you search you will find a huge amount of info on the procedure. You can search any combination of my name, souk, stevemfr and boyt911sc, psalt, and WUR and control pressure, and others, and you will find this issue comes up quite often.
