'81 911 SC euro, high miles, well used
My hood badge is loose. I can rotate it a little. I'd like to tighten it up, or replace it. I can get a deep socket on the nuts, but the nuts seem to spin with their shafts. I can't tighten or loosen either nut. I even tried an impact wrench on them to see if that would spin them loose, but that didn't work. An impact gun might be better, as it hits a lot harder, but that would take several reductions in drive size which I'd have to purchase. Any other ideas as to how to get this off? |

Pull on the badge while you loosen the nuts. As hard as possible, without damaging your hood and paint. Maybe lay some painters tape down and use a plastic scraper to gently pry up on the badge.
The pins are soft and the speednuts dig some pretty deep grooves sometimes.
