Tall manifold interest...for weber 40s
To the best of my knowledge...there were two manifold heights available for weber 40s, a short more common version, and the 911R taller sets. Without diving into the discussion on reversion, the taller sets are more rare and a tad bit more expensive. I have been talking with a CNC machinist about building some sets of the taller manifolds. The only aftermarket sets I have seen (and used) come from PMO and are priced at $400 a pair. Height -wise they are in between the short and 911R variations. I don't know of any other source of manifolds, but maybe I am missing something. I'm not sure what size order would make these viable to produce, and I'm not sure what the demand would be which would in turn dictate price. He would probably need to "rent" a pair to reverse engineer the product...and start with a standard bore to match the S intakes. This is purely in the conceptual stage...but if there were available a modern aluminum manifold, which was equivalent in specs to the tall 911R manifolds, what would the demand be? If anyone else wants to take this on...or has other suggestions, feel free to "weigh in".

The tall manifolds were for the 46mm Webers.
