Window motor replacement help ?
I guess I'm not as smart as I thought I was. I am trying to install a new window motor on a 88 coupe, drivers side. I have successfully removed the door panel. Do I need to remove the scissor part to get to the motor screws ? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated . I am stumped as to what should and should not be taken apart. I have already removed some of the cap head screws that hold that frame work in place. All but the last two toward the back of the door.

Can't say as I've ever tried to do it without removing the whole lift mechanism. The motor actually attaches to the lift itself so I suppose there may be room to get between it and the door skin to do it. Be careful as the glass will drop without the motor in place. It would be nice if you could as you have to remove the whole window frame on a coupe to get the glass out. |
I don't have power windows.....but i think i read somewhere that the motor has to be removed in order to get the regulator out of the door.

Thanks guy's. I'll do what ever it takes. I hope it is as easy to get back in as taking it out. I can see how the motor would have to come off to get any thing else out. If I can get it down to the speaker hole it might be worked on there, maybe.
Thanks again, John |
