OT-Tire Problems

I am having a lot of problems with the tires on my truck. I have Goodyear Trackers 31x10.5 that were installed by walmart(I know, I know) on a '93 F150. They have never balanced right. At about 75 mph the whole truck (supercab, 8' bed, heavy duty supension) starts to shake. Is there a special method for mounting these tires? Are the tires suposed to br mounted in a specific position on the rim?

Any help is appreciated

For one you could slow down http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/wink.gif

When tires come, the usually have a paint dot on them somewhere, that is where the manufacture suggestes is the spot were you should get the best balance. But, sometimes they aren't right or the installer doesnt' pay attention to it. When a tire doesn't balance right, the thing that should be done is rotate the tire on the rim, first turning the tire 180 degrees on the rim. If that doesn't work try 90 degrees, then if that doesn't work do another 180 degrees.

At the place I work, if a tire doesn't balance right, then we will always get you a new tire. So should this place if they ever want to see their customers again. So I would go back and ask for a new tire/tires.

Goodluck and hope I helped!
