To check VIN (how's your German??)
Porsche 911 Fahrzeugidentifikation Options should be on the sticker next to the hood latch on the underside of the front lid. If it is not there anymore, than you best guess would be to contact porsche. With the VIN, they should be able to find out more, for a small fee probably...

Sure. You can get them here: Certificate of Authenticity - Owner Services - Porsche Service - Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG
It would be helpful if you add your car year and model to a signature block like I have below. Later cars have an option sticker but early ones like mine do not.

You can pay Porsche $100 or so for a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). It supposedly will tell you with what options your car left the factory. It may take a few weeks or a few months to show up. It might be right, or not.
IMO, not worth it to pay $100 for it if you don't know if it's accurate or not. If what the paper says fits the car in front of you, great. If not, you'll wonder if the car's been changed or if the paperwork is wrong. People seem to love to advertise they have it when they sell their car, though. edit: Harry beat me to it.

Well, RoW cars should have WP0ZZZ... prefixes, and American market cars are WP0xB0... (where the "x" is a J or E or some other letter).

ZZZ is replace by a VDS code (position 3, 4 & 5) for US/Canadian car; see page 44 of Porsche 911 Performance Handbook - Google Books

More to the point..... the number stamped on the trunk floor of your car is NOT the VIN numbner...as used in Europe. It is the chassis number. The very similar looking VIN number for US cars is found in 2 places....1.) as a metal stamped plate on the driver's side A-pillar, can be seen from the outside looking through the front windshield....and 2.) as a sticker placed in the door jamb area underneath the latch plate. You can see this as you open the door.
The point is that you number on the trunk floor has "ZZZ" somehwere in the middle. Your VIN will have other characters in those locations.....but the number set before and after ZZZ should be the same.
