New Windshield! Mirror questions
I got a new windshield installed today. I was going to attempt to do it, but then got a good deal at a local shop and I watched... I'm glad I paid the bucks.
When it came time to re-install the mirror, they said I needed to get a new sticky pad from the dealer, so I checked here at PP. yes I can get a sticky pad here. But now I discovered that the mirror that I have, is for a pre-78 car, and mine is a 78 SC. I can just get the sticky pad and stick this one on there, or am I missing any upgraded advantages by not getting a more correct mirror assembly? I'm leaning toward the $3.50 sticky for now, but just thought now is a good time for opinions.. thanks,

You would be much better off overall if you purchased a new rear view mirror, Ford say, that has the map lights embedded. Be careful about the width and mounting position such that the mirror does not interfere with the sun visor "swing".
